Phil Angelides believes that working families deserve affordable access to quality health care. He understands the stakes of health care reform and believes that affordable access to quality care is essential for the state's long-term economic competitiveness. Phil Angelides believes the health care crisis must be addressed in the opening years of the 21st Century if we are to build an economy and a society of enduring strength, and he will make health care a top priority of his administration

Phil Angelides will stand with hard-working families –– unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger, who sides with the HMOs, drug companies, and Big Tobacco.  As Governor, Phil Angelides will:

• Work to expand health care coverage, beginning with providing health care to all our children.
• Regulate HMOs to make sure that the health-care premiums of hard-working Californians go to pay for health care, not excessive CEO pay and profits.
• Demand that large employers be responsible and provide coverage to their workers, not pay the costs onto taxpayers.
• Fight to control prescription drug costs.
